About Me
Hello!
My name is Matthew Dunham. I am an alum from Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB), graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Statistics and Minor in Psychology. I've worked at the CSUMB campus University Center, as an Intro Statistics, Calculus I and R/RMarkdown tutor at the Cooperative Learning Center (CLC) and as an undergraduate researcher. I am primarily interested in researching ways in which computation can be integrated in statistics curriculum and classrooms to build more technology skills and improved learning in statistics. I would love to one day become a professor and have the opportunity to inspire students and allow them to explore than passions similarly as to how professors have done for me here at CSUMB (:
My research interests involve developing measurements instruments, primarily surveys, to measure latent variables, or variables unable to be explicitly measured, that may be used to further educational curriculum development. In addition, I am interested in ways that computation and technology can be integrated more into K-16 education and was in which we can use technology to bridge equity gaps that exist in STEM and statistics education.
In my spare time I enjoy being creative. I like to draw, take photographs and play guitar. One of the more amazing aspects of this planet are the parallel between art and science and I love to explore this when I can.
